Day 3 - The second day we will visit Los del Rio Ozama Humedales, wooded area along the river, protected by the Secretariat of State for the Environment. You can admire the giant Ceiba trees and also discover the livestock and vermiculture projects of the site.
Discover the history of the colonial city of Santo Domingo (declared Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO) and its surroundings, an original tour with a surprising course of three days biking in urban and rural areas of the capital.
Day 9 - Transfer to the Airport of Las Americas, Santo Domingo.
Day 8 - Walking time 5h, level 900 m (going down), low difficulty.
Breakfast and rise of "Caña Brava" (200 m) overlooking the valley that will back us to Paraíso. Walk down to the basin of "Mata de Maíz" (700m), source of Rio "Nizaito" that we will walk along much of the day.
We will continue the trek downhill towards Polo, passing before the sinister prison built by Trujillo, dictator from 1930 to 1961. At the end, we will arrive on the road to the only city of the Sierra Bahoruco. Sitting at the bus stop, you only have to wait for the vehicle that takes you up Polo. The reception will be provided at Mama Gueda who leads the cooperative associations of village. The diner is served at Mama Gueda, before going on where you spend the night, in a house, an hotel or a common bedroom.
Jour 7 - Walking time 7h, level 700 m (going up and down), medium difficulty.
Full breakfast and departure for Polo, first on a flowery path walking down to the river Cortico (300 m), then going up to the small village of Auta. All along the way magnificent views will drive you on another hillside of the Sierra Bahoruco, until La Mina (old silica mine). Small pause in the house of a Montea Nueva's family (1000 m).
At the top, meeting with the small community of Charco Blanco (900m), a little pause for lunch, and then the way continues towards Cachote, in the cloud forest (1100m), in an enclave of the Bahoruco National Park (biosphere Reserve). Here you will visit the botanical path and the fish-pond. At the end of the day, we will share a dinner prepared by the community, and will appreciate the freshness of the unique climate in the region, before going to sleep lulled by the sounds of the mountain. Night in refuge or tent.
Day 6 - Walking time 6h, level 1100 m (going up), high difficulty.
Departure from the hotel in Ecotour vehicule to Paraiso, village nestled betwen the mountains and the Caribbean sea.
We will start the trek by the “Café de las Mujeres” trail, across agricultural and coffee cultivations.
Then join an authentic region, rich in history and natural wonders in the heart of the Sierra Bahoruco for a trek of three days in semi-autonomous, requiring all your energy and your enthusiasm.
Day 4 - The third day we will do a "City Tour", accompanied by a security official.
Beginning at the Botanical Park, we pass by the Zoo, the subway area, the colonial city, chinatown, concluding around the Faro Colon and Parque Mirador.
Day 1 - Arrival at Las Americas airport and transfer to the Mercure Commercial Hotel in the heart of the colonial city of Santo Domingo, located on the famous pedestrian street "El Conde". This beautiful modern hotel with 4 floors has been renovated in 2000.
Day 5 - Transfer to the hotel Playazul located a few kilometers from the city of Barahona. The hotel has a swimming pool, restaurant and comfortable rooms in a beautiful tropical construction. This is an opportunity to enjoy a warm rest in a quiet and family atmosphere.
Day 2 - The first day we will visit the area of Higuero in the northern part of the capital, very popular with "bikers" for the appeal of its downhill paths, climbing, river crossings and visits of natural swimming pools.
