After lunch, we will walk across this desertic island to reach the mirador which offers an amazing panoramic view over the lake, the carribean sea and all the Jaragua Park surrounded by the mountain chain Sierra de Bahoruco.
Among all the sites of the country, the laguna Oviedo is the best place to birdwatch the most beautiful aquatic birds of the Dominican Republic.

It is composed of more than 40 islands that are home of herons, sterns, golden spoonbills, frigatebirds, white egrets, pelicans, and of course red flamingoes.
After a boat tour you will enjoy your lunch on one of these islands. The vegetation is arid and mainly made of cactus. Two kinds of iguanas are living there : the Rhinoceros iguana and the Ricord iguana.
Although a little bit impressive, they are completely inoffensive.
After a walk through the arid thickets, you will be invited in the herons world, where the river meets the lagoon, pleasant place for them because full of fishes.
Explore another treasure of the National park of Jaragua : the laguna Oviedo.

08:00 a.m : Beginning of the tour from your hotel
08:30 a.m : Visit of the Tainos Cave and the natural swimming pool of Los Patos.
10:00 a.m : Beginning of the boat tour on the Oviedo Lake.
Walk between the lake and the sea to reach the beach Cabo San Luis.
01:00 p.m : Lunch on the Iguana Island.
Walk to the mirador.
04:00 p.m : Return to Oviedo by boat
06:00 p.m : Arrival at your hotel
